Hey,
How about prematch in Urology at the place where u do Observership. If PD and faculty likes u, can they offer a position in the form of prematch in that program without going through match process. |

While I do not know the code of conduct from the AUA by heart, I believe that to be a part of the AUA match process programs specifically cannot do this. Doing an away rotation or sub-I at a place could certainly get your foot in the door but I have not heard of a true prematch position being offered. |

This would be a clear violation of the AUA rules. More importantly, never take for face value what the faculty, chairman, or PD tell you during your rotations
about having a "sure spot."

Prematch is used by specialties that have difficulty filling positions (such as internal medicine, peds, family medicine) and is only an option for non-US
educated, non-seniors (i.e. didn't match prior year), and/or non-allopathic applicants. Prematch is not a viable ambition in highly competitive specialties
such as urology.
